THE NEW YORKER COVER

Objective

Design a metaphorical illustration based on a recent article along with 2 accompanying spot illustrations.

Process

The article I chose to base my illustration on was about the declining approval rating of Biden during the final year of his presidency. While public opinion of Trump was also decreasing due to his rhetoric and many legal battles. I portrayed both Biden and Trump riding a declining line graph on a screen, with Biden worried and Trump enjoying the decent, overly long tie flapping in the wind. Textures were added by scanning items and cutting the shapes out in Photoshop.
