Here a photo was chosen to illustrate in Adobe Illustrator. Instead of just recreating the photograph, I chose to create an effect of translucent skin revealing the bones beneath. Orange was chosen instinctually, the complimentary greens were added for a background and finally grain texture was used to add visual interest to the gradients.
